the California bridlemen"
It's not about the hat, it's about what's under the hat.

"Marty is the most awesome teacher, he is a Quality Teacher and every student Respected him and Learned from him. They all Progressed, they were all Safe".

"When I first saw Marty Gardner at a Ranch Roping about 5 years ago I was truly amazed at his Horsemanship skills. With the slightest cues his horse responded, a true partnership. This was the type of partnership I wanted with my horse. I wanted my horse to feel the cues with my body and not with my hands. I wanted my horse to be a bridle horse".
"Marty follows the vaquero method of teaching horses and instructing students. The Vaqueros took their time training their horses. This method of training takes alot of time and patience, but the end result is worth it. You and your horse are responsive and you become a true partner, like Marty is with his horses".
"Marty exemplifies a true Vaquero, and I hold him in the highest regards as a horseman. I highly recommend anybody who wants to achieve such a partnership with their horses to attend Marty's Clinic or Lessons"

Marty Is an Extremely Knowledgeable Horseman and has Fantastic communication skills that enables him to pass that knowledge on to the rider. We have enjoyed our horsemanship classes with him and he has brought our riding level up to a point where we no longer get frustrated at not being able to communicate with our horses.
Marty is also a great trainer. He took my 12 year old mare and tuned her up for the 2008 Team Penning Nationals, and we Won!! She is so soft now and dosen't run away on me. She is moving and listening well. She lopes off on the proper lead and can lead change. She was so afraid of the flag before we got her to Marty. Now she moves with the flag and is no longer afraid.
I reccommend Marty to anyone who needs to upgrade their horsemanship or needs some training for their horse.

I first started getting lessons from Marty when he trained my 3 year old Appaloosa mare "Little Bits". After her training was done I went for Lessons, we were both learning and I was very scared. The next summer Marty had found a big paint horse named "Frazer"for my mom, So we had a Week long Horsemanship Clinic at our place. By the end of that Clinic, "Little Bits" and I were soul Mates and we could lope a little bit. At that camp we learned alot about Slack in the reins and about gaining trust between us and our horse. Then just a few weeks later we took our horses to Marty's arena, by then we were loping all over the arena, and we learned a bit harder stuff like, Leg Yielding.
Every year we have our Clinics we learn alot and have so much fun, Marty helps you to be confident and to have an amazing relationship with your horse. Marty has changed our family
in a way that is not just us having fun, but our horses to.
Now mom and Frazer are best buds, they bond really well and their riding is coming along Terrically. As for "Little Bits" and I, I know how to act when she is misbehaving now, and "Little Bits" is the best Horse for me in the whole wide world thanks to Marty.
