Are you Stuck in a Rut?

Are you bored? Not evolving? experiencing the same set backs and struggles year after year? Then perhaps getting out of your "Box" may help!!

I have seen it time and time again, someone frustrated because they are not evolving or struggling with a maneuver or a pattern or a situation, repeating the same mistake over and over again and again, simply because in their peer group that’s how “We” do things.

We humans have been riding and getting along with horses for thousands of years, and odds are if you are struggling with something on your horse, someone else in history has also experienced and overcame the very problem you are having.

You see there are only so many maneuvers a horse can do when trained to the highest level, and if your horse is struggling to understand something you are trying to do, maybe the answer is to get out of your Box and learn some new

skills and techniques that may help you

in your chosen equine field.

For instance, If you participate in Reining and are struggling with flying lead changes, take a dressage lesson and aspire to learn “Tempi Changes”, If you participate in barrel racing and are struggling with dropping shoulders and hitting barrels, consider some Reining lessons to develop Leads and Flying changes and rate, If you are a cowboy working on a ranch struggling with sorting fats at the gate, consider some cutting or working cow horse lessons. If you participate in Team Roping and are struggling with the speed and accuracy, maybe consider a Ranch Roping clinic or lessons to develop multiple shots at a slower speed. If you trail ride and consistently have to deal with a spooky horse, or a horse who struggles with bridges and water crossings, maybe consider trying Cowboy Challenge or Working Equitation.

When you get out of your box, you may find there is so much wonderful information and people out there to help you get out of your rut.

Because we all know the definition of “Insanity, doing the same things over and over expecting a different result".
